What is an optical cable, and why is it important in industrial machinery?
Standard cables used in homes are made of copper and transmit electrical current. However, in industrial workshops filled with large motors and welding equipment, ambient electricity can cause interference (noise) in copper wires.
Where is the optical cable used within the machine?
This cable is specifically designed to connect the main board—the “brain” of the system—to the motor drive units known as servo amplifiers. When you press the start button on the machine, the main board determines how far and how fast the motors should rotate. These decisions are transmitted to the motors as light pulses via the A66L-6001-0023 cable.
This cable is typically installed inside the machine’s electrical cabinet, an area where numerous electronic components are densely packed together.
